I'm the new Kindergarten
teacher at Greenwood and I'm delighted to be here. I graduated from
UC Berkeley and received my Masters Degree. I have taught many years
in kindergarten as well as grades 1-6. I've also been a Title I
and ESL teacher. I am thrilled to be working ten minutes from home
and using more of my time talking to parents and working in my classroom,
instead of driving in traffic!
Kindergarten is a busy place with all the K classrooms bursting
with 27 students each. While implementing Grade Level Expectations
through required curriculum, I add songs, creative play, social
skills and humor into my class. Students here have a wonderful art
teacher, librarian, PE teacher, and many after school clubs to join.
Greenwood is a great school.
For fun and relaxation I garden, go to a book club and dining group
and walk Green Lake. I also love beads and making jewelry. I love
Seattle's cool wet climate where a comfy sweater, a cup of coffee
and a good book by the fire is a peaceful way to spend some quiet
time
In the short time I have been here I am overwhelmed by the support
and help from the parents/guardians of my students. I often have
a couple parents a day doing whatever needs to be done. I love my
volunteers and couldn't possibly run my program with them. I also
receive kinds words and mochas, which goes a long way to keep me
happy:
