In Memoriam
In Memory of Nancy Susan (Tils) McKernon Nancy McKernon was a loved neighbor and former Greenwood Elementary volunteer extraordinaire. If you knew her, please stop by the school office by Wednesday, 3/17, and sign a card to her family. Dedicated in her memory, the PTA Board has decided to purchase and display a collection of air and space books in the library. Nancy quietly slipped away early on Feb 4th after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was born 9/29/58 in Kansas City, MO. She moved to Seattle in 1984 where she met and married Michael McKernon. Together they had 2 boys, Sean and Kaelin. Nancy was the ultimate volunteer and activist-involved in any and everything to do with her children and her community. Her boundless energy rallied people to get involved. Nancy's greatest pride was her family and her boys. She never missed a game, or event. Nancy loved people and loved to be involved. She will be missed by all who knew her, worked with her and loved her, especially her husband Michael and sons Sean and Kaelin. Remembrances can be sent to: Ballard High School PTSA, Greenwood Elementary School PTA or North Seattle Puget Sound Cancer Center, 1560 N 115th St, Seattle, WA 98133. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held Sat, Feb 27 at 4pm at the Earl Kelly Performing Arts Center at Ballard High School. |
