Before/After School Clubs - Drama
Exciting new Musical Theatre Club, coming this winter!
Greenwood Students love to perform! Coming in Winter Quarter, we will offer - in addition to Drama Club - a new performance oriented club. This one will be directed by local playwright, director, instructor - and Greenwood parent Scott Jackman (who is also leading the Acting for Film club). When you join this club, you are committing to both Winter and Spring quarters. In May, the club will perform an original musical, written by Scott. The performances will be in May. Here is what it's all about:
"The Hansel & Gretel Cookbook"
In a candy house at the edge of a frightening forest, Gretel struggles to create a healthy recipe to feed her ravenous brother and a multitude of starving fairy tale characters before they consume the entire house and perhaps each other. Once they realize the house belongs to a witch, and discover a post-it note reading, “cook and eat the children”, our heroes must prepare to turn the tables on the landlord before she returns. But how can they possibly make a witch appetizing?
This funny, energetic show features a wide variety of music: pop, rock, broadway, punk, scary orchestral, crazy salsa, country-western, etc.

CHARACTERS
Hansel, Gretel, the Witch, Big Bad Wolf, Jack in the Beanstalk, Frog Prince, Pinocchio, Snow White, Cinderella, Ugly Duckling, Red Riding Hood, Brementown Musicians, and a Chorus of colorful creatures. The witch will be played by a professional actress/singer/choreographer, and the rest of the roles by our students.
Registration for Musical Club will be OPEN - auditions are not required. Your child MAY participate in both Drama and Musical clubs if s/he is already in Drama Club - Drama Club will NOT be adding new students in the Winter quarter. Tuition is $85 per club, per quarter.
