Kid Links is also offering a preschool program for three to five-year-olds at Greenwood. The goal of the program is for each child to learn all the necessary skills to succeed in kindergarten. The preschool hours will be 9:15am to 2:45pm daily.

Preschool Open Houses

There will be two Kid Links Preschool Open Houses for our half day Annex program and our full day Preschool program at Greenwood Elementary. The first will be Wednesday, January 30th and the second will be held on Tuesday, February 11th.

This intensive program is taught by Mr. Kevin Zelko. The goal of the program is for each student to develop strategies that will help him or her reenter the classroom successfully. Ms. Hook and Mr. Hollinsworth assist in this classroom. Mr. Zelko can be reached at 252-1416.

School Nurse
Nurse Susie, the school nurse, is at Greenwood all day on Monday. On other days Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Daley will help students with first aid and health needs.

Students who need to take any prescription or over-the-counter medications while at school must have an authorization form on file in the office. The most potent medicines that can be administered without this form are Band-Aids and ice packs and warm water bottles. Please note that Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Daley cannot administer medication in eyes, ears, or on the skin (topical). They can only administer oral medication with doctor’s orders.

The nurse carries out various health screenings during the course of the year. If you suspect that your child might need hearing or sight tests, the nurse can assist you. Her voicemail number is 252-1407.

Family Support Worker
Ms. Greenstein is at Greenwood Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays. Due to a new focus of the FSW Program in 2006, Ms. Greenstein mainly works with a small number of families (students qualify based on DRA/WASL scores) in order to boost academic achievement.
